1) Design and Fabric Selection
The process begins by exploring inspiration, silks, and a palette that speaks to you. Once the heart of your design is captured, Nia translates that vision into a technical foundation. Using artisan techniques honed in Italy, she develops a custom pattern drafted specifically for your silhouette. This isn’t just about measurements; it’s about building a foundation that ensures your gown is as comfortable as it is breathtaking.

2) The art of the muslin
To guarantee a flawless fit, we move forward by crafting a prototype of your gown in cotton muslin. This allows us to see your vision in 3D, mirroring the architecture of the design we created together. Think of this as our creative playground, where we have complete freedom to adjust the silhouette and fine-tune every detail until it is just right. We’re looking for total peace of mind in the muslin before moving into your final silks.

Once the blueprint is perfected, the alchemy truly begins, with you as the captain. Your chosen silks are meticulously cut and stitched into a luxe gown that is authentically you. The final result is a once-in-a-lifetime wearable work of art, brought to life with precision and heart. Every detail is a celebration of your story—a labor of love crafted to be as enduring as the memories you’ll make alongside the one you love.

Step 1: The Spark
Every masterpiece starts with an idea. Whether you have a Pinterest board full of inspiration or a specific essence you’re trying to capture, Nia wants to hear it all. To begin, please fill out the Bespoke Inquiry Form with your wedding date, design dreams, and reference photos that speak to you.
Step 2: The Vision Session
Following your inquiry, you will be invited for a conceptual design consultation at the studio. In this session we’ll explore fabrics, silhouettes, and the "why" behind your piece. Following this meeting, Nia will provide a detailed proposal and a tailored investment estimate, offering a clear roadmap for your journey.
Step 3: Securing the Calendar
Bespoke creations require a high level of artisan focus and a 6–9 month lead time, so a limited number of commissions are accepted per year. Your journey officially begins once your design agreement is signed and your retainer is placed. From there, we get to move into the blueprint stage and start bringing your vision to life!

To give a bespoke gown or pantsuit the time and artistry it deserves, the journey typically begins 6 to 9 months before the wedding day. For other custom creations, a lead time of 4 to 6 months is recommended. This window allows for every design phase and fitting to move forward with intention and ease.
With that said, every love story has its own rhythm. If your timeline is a bit tighter, please reach out—Nia will always do her best to weave some magic into the studio schedule whenever possible.

Because your dream is being built from the ground up, your creation will unfold with a series of exciting milestones. You can typically expect four to six studio visits, though if you’re having multiple bespoke items made, additional visits may be necessary.

While bespoke magic takes time, a little room is always held in the studio for the unexpected. Depending on the complexity of the design and the current calendar, a rush journey may be possible. Every Fit and Flair creation is a one-of-a-kind masterpiece, and the pricing reflects the high-quality materials and artisan hours poured into your design. Custom accessories like veils and capes begin at $200, while bespoke pajamas and lingerie start at $300. As for the statement pieces, bridal pantsuits begin at $3,000 and bespoke gowns begin at $4,500. During our consultation, we’ll dive into your vision and then Nia will provide a personalized quote that honors your dream. Bespoke is a beautiful investment—one approached with care, artistry, and heart every step of the way.

While most store-bought gowns rely on plastic-based synthetic fibers, Nia believes your skin deserves better. She exclusively uses 100% silk fabrics and linings—the same textiles historically reserved for the world’s most iconic couture houses. Silk is a breathable, natural wonder that moves like a dream and feels like a second skin.
A little secret for the modern bride: silk doesn’t always mean 'shiny!' From buttery crepes to architectural brocade, we’ll uncover the perfect texture for your vision.

Nia is aware that there will be brides who are allergic to cats. To help reduce allergens, the cats are not allowed in the studio room, and extra care is taken to clean surfaces prior to appointments with allergic brides. That being said, due to the vents in the home, a dander-free room cannot be guaranteed. If you are severely allergic, Fit and Flair may not be the ideal fit for you.

Your gown is a work of art, and its story shouldn't end at the altar. Fit and Flair is proud to partner with Idaho Gown Preservation to offer elite cleaning and preservation services for your gown. Using expert techniques to treat every detail—including those invisible stains—the preservation team ensures your silks will have a graceful transition into a cherished heirloom.
As a Fit and Flair bride, you will generously be gifted a personalized box engraving (a $100 value) when booking through the studio. After being carefully cleaned, your gown will be artfully wrapped in archival tissue before being packed into a museum-grade preservation box, guaranteeing your masterpiece stays flawless for decades to come.
